Rooibos Lifestyle Shake and Babies
Good day, from which age can a baby drink shake? The mom does not breast feed. The baby drinks the Annique Rooibos Tea. I’m confident and my baby grew up on the shake and Baby Rooibos Tea due to allergies. And today he is 16 years old. But I would rather like to make sure and not loose a client.

I need something in writing please?

Hi

The Annique Lifestyle Shake has been enjoyed over many decades by people of all ages. The original Lifestyle Shake formula was developed for malnourished children but was modified by Dr Annique Theron in the early 1970’s to become a meal replacement for slimming. Since then, old and young have enjoyed its delicious health-promoting benefits.

Regarding the Shake’s suitability for babies, we would like to clarify and confirm Annique’s official recommendation:
Annique supports the guidelines of the Infant and Young Child Feeding Policy published by the South African Department of Health in March 2013 as we believe that these guidelines are best for baby.
1. The Infant and Young Child Feeding Policy state that breastfeeding is recommended up until the age of two years, but not less than 6 months. Should mothers be unable to breastfeed for any reason, we recommend baby formula be given in the place of breast milk, as recommended by your paediatrician. The formula can be mixed with Baby Rooibos or Green Rooibos Tea from the age of 6 months.
2. The Infant and Young Child Feeding Policy notes that complementary feeding (the addition of solid food to a baby’s diet ) is recommended from the age of six months. At this stage the Annique Rooibos Lifestyle Shake can be given to the baby, in addition to breast milk and/or formula. The Department of Health discourages the early introduction of complementary foods, as breast milk is best.
3. From the age of two years, the adult dosage of Annique Rooibos Lifestyle Shake is recommended, as indicated on the product packaging – two scoops of Shake added to 250ml of milk or water or Rooibos tea, can be fed to children in addition to a balanced and healthy diet.
