Annique Green Rooibos Tea – 50g
Unfermented Rooibos with far more antioxidants and aspalathin — a gentle cup for body and skin.
Ordinary red Rooibos is fermented. Green Rooibos is not. That single choice in processing is why this tea feels like a different drink: it keeps far more of the antioxidants, flavonoids, and aspalathin that the plant is known for, and those properties play an essential role in rejuvenation. Annique Green Rooibos Tea is one hundred percent unfermented Aspalathus Linearis. It contains ten times more antioxidants and ten times more of the flavonoid aspalathin than normal Rooibos tea. Aspalathin is a remarkable antioxidant found only in the Rooibos plant, and it is one of the reasons people reach for this cup when they want to support the body from the inside while also looking after the skin.
Because the tannin content is low, the taste is very subtle. You do not need milk or sugar to enjoy it. Like regular Rooibos, it is naturally caffeine free, so it sits comfortably in an evening cup as well as a morning one. It is described as a wonderful anti-ageing treat that is safe for expecting and nursing mums and for babies from the age of six months. That is a rare combination: a strong antioxidant profile without the stimulant that would keep a baby, a pregnant woman, or a light sleeper on edge.
You can also use it on the skin. Rinsing or spraying the body with cooled Green Rooibos tea is said to bring relief to sensitive and problem skin. Brew a cup, let it cool, and you have a simple wash or mist that belongs to the same plant as the drink. For everyday sipping, pour boiling water over one bag and steep for two to five minutes, or simmer it gently on the stove for the same time. Drink it as it is. On a hot day, chill it, and finish the jug within forty-eight hours.
What Is the Difference Between Red and Green Rooibos Tea?
South African-grown Rooibos is a herbal tea made from the Aspalathus Linearis plant. The fermented red kind is the most popular and widely available. There is also a green variety that is not fermented. In addition to being uncommon, green Rooibos is also relatively new and may contain more antioxidants. Unlike green tea from Camellia sinensis, green Rooibos is completely caffeine free. If you already drink Rooibos Tea – 200g through the day, this fifty gram pack is the unfermented counterpart: milder in the cup, denser in aspalathin, and still free of caffeine.
Green Rooibos tea is believed to have antispasmodic properties. It calms intestinal spasms and eases digestive upsets. People who experience nausea, stomach ulcers, or heartburn may benefit from drinking this tea. Because of its high flavonoid content, it is commonly used for respiratory comfort: the flavonoids have selective bronchodilator effects and help to reduce inflammation. The same cup is also listed for helping to lower cholesterol, boost the immune system, slow the ageing process by destroying harmful free radicals, stabilise blood sugar, support bone health, and play a role in a weight-conscious routine. Those are the reasons people keep a box in the kitchen, not a promise that one tea replaces medical care.
Keep the ritual simple. One bag, boiling water, a short steep, and a quiet minute with the cup. If your skin is reactive, save the cooled leftover and rinse or spray. If digestion is the reason you came looking, drink it regularly rather than only when discomfort arrives. And if you simply want more antioxidant Rooibos than the red fermented leaf can offer, this is the tea that was left unfermented on purpose so those compounds could stay in the cup.
